Open Source is becoming widely recognized and embraced for its ability to offer organizations sustained competitive advantage.

The survey interviewed close to 1,000 businesses and IT professionals from North America, the UK, Germany and France and provides a global benchmark of attitudes and trends in open source growth and adoption.

In particular, the figures showed that Europe led the way in its preference for open source platforms, particularly in the deployment of new applications, and replacement of outdated systems with France and Germany at the forefront.
